The game against Fayetteville State was won on a 2 run double in the bottom of the seventh. The Storm went on a 7-0 run to end the game. The Storm was no-hit by Indianapolis during the week. Jennifer DeMotte threw a no-hitter (her fourth) and was one walk away from a perfect game. Three freshmen led the Storm through the week of games. Courtney Hawk, Meredith Scholle and MacKenzie Quinn were big helps to the team this season. The pitching staff continues to be a problem for the Storm, but with assistant coach Erika Bennett on the staff, the pitching could turn a corner.

Quick Takes: The Lake Erie College got their first win of the season on their annual Spring Break trip against Pfeiffer. That game also was Coach Brian McGee’s 100th win while at Lake Erie. McGee joins men’s basketball coach Cliff Hunt as the only coaches with 100 wins at LEC. Throughout the games, Cody Blood and Zach DeCamp constantly were on the box score with multiple hits and RBI’s. Blood is a senior and DeCamp is a freshman. Coach McGee has a lot of freshman that will lead this team with the mix of seniors that are on the team (Pat Kilway). The Storm will look to improve throughout the year, but with facing the GLIAC, it isn’t an easy task.

Next Up for the Storm: 3/16 and 3/17 vs. Notre Dame College in Chillicothe, Ohio. Both days are doubleheaders.

Next Monday, I will recap the Storm for the shorter week of the action!
