Eastlake, Ohio- The Lake County Captains (11-6, 34-50) fell victim to a ill-placed rain delay as the West Michigan Whitecaps (8-9, 41-46) won the series opener by a final score of 4-3 in six innings. The loss snapped the Captains’ six game winning streak.
Luis Dejesus took the mound for the Captains as he took on Edgar De La Rosa for the Whitecaps.

After an hour and six minute delay, the umpires and managers called the game due to unplayable conditions. The Captains had the tying run at first but never got a chance to tie the game.
